Eden Mills & District Community Club

Spirit Walk

On Saturday May 5, 2018 the ghosts of former village residents, of the 19th and 20th centuries, came alive during the Eden Mills Spirit Walk.  This fundraiser for the Eden Mills Community Club’s ongoing energy-retrofit of the Community Hall, technical upgrades to its theatre space, and electrical and accessibility upgrades was a overwhelming success.

Beginning at the Hall where light refreshments with musical accompaniment will be available, the tours will begin with an introduction to the Indigenous history of Eden Mills accompanied by drumming courtesy of the Turtle Island Drumming Circle.

As  they move through the village, stopping at  historic buildings and sites along York and Cedar Streets, tour group members will meet the spirits of Daniel Kribs, Adam Argo, Norman Marshall, Elizabeth and Henry Hortop, Sylvia (of Sylvia’s ice cream shop), butcher George Hampson, John and Rachel Ramsay and others. Each group will be led by a guide with a sweep following.
