Solar Panels at WorkTo see our Eden Mills Hall solar energy production to-date and in real-time, CLICK THE PHOTO to access the monitoring site hosted by Fronius Canada, the manufacturer of our solar inverters. Our access to this monitoring site was sponsored by Solar Direct Canada, the company which installed the panels. Thank you Ray Jarvis and Solar Direct! Our target is to generate about 17,000 kWh per year, in the same order of magnitude as what we consume. An average house in Canada uses about 25 kWh/day or about 9,000 kWh/yr. | How to...use the solar panel info link.
The first screen is “Overview”, with a graphic showing how much power our solar roof is generating, how much of it we are consuming directly, and how much we are exporting to the HydroOne grid. To review our solar production history, choose the “Analysis” tab and then “History.” The solar electricity is processed by two 5 kW Fronius ‘Primo’ inverters (inverting the DC power from the panels to AC). Each inverter is fed from solar panels on both the east and west sides of the roof. So the recorded data is from inverters ‘Primo #1’ and ‘Primo #2’. On the ‘History’ tab, under ‘Devices’, select “All.” Under ‘Channels’, select “Total Power.” |
