Eden Mills plays host to a number of events throughout the year. Our volunteers put together a local concert series every year with music and entertainment at the Community Hall.
The Eden Mills Writers’ Festival takes place in September every year and plays host to celebrated authors who perform readings of their own work in the natural setting of the Village. People come from all over to hear the readings, eat local food, purchase books, and browse through the exhibits that line our main street.
The Eden Mills Arts Festival is also a highlight of our year and generally features the work of about 20 local artists and craftspeople. Visit the Welcome Centre at the Community Hall in Eden Mills and see some examples of artists’ work, get directions to the various artists’ studios, and enjoy a bite in our cafe.
Jazz in the Barn
with Peter Appleyard and
Canadian Jazz Legends of the Highest Order
In a swinging celebration of his 85th birthday, vibraphonist Peter Appleyard will host Jazz in the Barn, a full afternoon gala of fabulous music and elegant country fare on his Nassagaweya farm in Milton on Sunday, May 26, 2013 at 1:00 pm. Featuring jazz musicians who, like Peter, are recipients of the Order of Canada, the concert will raise funds for Eden Mills It Takes a Village.
The event takes place on the same weekend as the Eden Mills Arts Festival bringing jazz audiences to Eden Mills artists. In addition, selected works by Eden Mills Festival artists will be featured in a silent auction at the concert.
